WELCOME TO DAUGHTERS OF SIERRA LEONE

TOGETHER WE CAN REACHOUT TO MORE WOMEN IN SIERRA LEONE

Daughters of Sierra Leone is an organization to unite women from Sierra Leone and across Africa. We are on a mission to promote the development of our country; Sierra Leone, where women will empower one another socially and in times of need.
About Us

Helping women never doubt that they are Valuable & Powerful

I strongly believe Sierra Leonean women need help, not only from foreigners, but also from us. As women, we need to positively inspire others to spark the growth within our community and elevate the generation to come. We can’t only live for ourselves and expect our kids or the unborn generation to prosper.
No movement needs to be discouraged, what we need are encouragement and support.
A positive investment today will give us peace of and prosperity in our society.

WHY EMPOWER WOMEN

Women have made great strides in the pursuit of education, careers and leadership roles they were once denied. However, they still comprise a minority of leaders in the business world. According to a February 2018 list from Catalyst, 21.2 percent of Fortune 500 companies’ board seats are occupied by women, and just 5.2 percent of the companies’ CEOs are women.

Women empowerment is never about comparing the strength of women and men, but it is all about seeing strengths in a different light while acquiring a point of view that women are equally as important as men.

Social Empowerment

We help strengthen women’s participation in decision making within social structures that will boost their self confidence.

Financial Empowerment

We provide capital and financial education, teaching our members how to be managers of their own money.

Psychological Empowerment

Psychological empowerment aligns with social empowerment and lets women go beyond what’s expected of them in society.

Educational Empowerment

Education is a crucial part of growing and developing, but there are still places in the world that deny education to girls.

We Empower Women That Build The Society

The role of a woman in society places her in a unique position to be a peace builder, who makes sacrifices to provide stability for herself, her family and her community. Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.
